What is going on with new stretch goals?

All pre-orders/funds raised in BackerKit will contribute to new stretch goals. Our next goal is for improved mod tools and editor docs at $350,000.

What about multiplayer?

Due to overwhelming demand, we are now committing (if the Kickstarter makes it) to making a MULTIPLAYER EXPANSION for Overload. We always wanted to have multiplayer and believed we would eventually, but we did not feel comfortable making a public commitment to it. It’s too easy for something like multiplayer to blow up the schedule and adversely affect the single player game. We want to hit our single player date with a great game. So, here’s our plan: We will deliver the single player game in March, 2017. If the Kickstarter campaign is successful, we will deliver multiplayer as an expansion sometime after that (likely 6-8 months). Everyone who backs the campaign at the DIGITAL EDITION reward level and above will receive a free copy of the multiplayer expansion. We are not sure on the scope, but it will include the competitive modes and key features that kept Descent going for over 20 years. Last updated: Mon, Feb 29 2016 12:22 pm EST

You’re making this for VR, right?

Yes we are! See update #20 for more details! Last updated: Wed, Mar 9 2016 2:30 pm EST

Will you support user-created levels?

We are building our levels with a custom standalone editor. We plan on releasing the level and geometry mesh editors to the community after Overload is released, and supporting custom levels on the PC. Last updated: Wed, Feb 10 2016 10:25 am EST

Didn’t you guys already do a Kickstarter for Descent: Underground?

Nope – that’s not us. Descent: Underground is being created by a different group of developers (with experience in space games like Wing Commander and Star Citizen) who have licensed the name from Interplay and are creating a new game with a different focus. We’ve talked to them a couple times and they seem pretty cool. Overload and Descent: Underground are completely different games from different groups of people, but we all love 6-degree-of-freedom shooters. Last updated: Wed, Feb 10 2016 10:25 am EST

What are the hardware requirements?

You need a PS4, XB1, or PC. Overload will have detail settings that should make the game playable on any relatively modern PC hardware. To get the best experience we recommend: * Graphics card with Shader 3.0 support (1GB+ VRAM recommended) * 2GHz Dual core processor or higher (i3 or higher recommended) * 4GB of memory * 10GB of HD space (rough estimate, could be higher) Last updated: Thu, Feb 11 2016 10:45 am EST

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
